On Friday, after completing the medical at the Rossi Clinic, Agustín Palavecino and David Martínez met with Rodolfo D’Onofrio at the Monumental Stadium’s offices and signed their respective contracts to become new River players.
Palavecino, a 24-year-old attacking midfielder who started his career in Platense, has returned to Argentine football after standing out for two seasons playing for Deportivo Cali (Colombia).
Martínez, a 23-year-old centre-back who emerged from River’s Youth Divisions, returns to his home club after playing for Defensa y Justicia, where he recently became a champion of the 2020 South American Cup. "My dream is coming true and I hope we can achieve all our goals together", Palavecino said excitedly on his first day at the Monumental Stadium. For his part, Martínez expressed how happy he is to be back home: “I’m thrilled to be here and I thank every River fan for their support.”
